SailPoint Technologies

Senior Brand Designer

Senior Brand Designer — SailPoint Technologies (since 2022)

Overview A Senior Brand Designer at SailPoint Technologies leads the visual expression and implementation of the company’s post-2022 rebrand. This role translates strategic brand direction into cohesive visual systems, marketing assets, product experiences, and internal communications, ensuring consistent application of the new identity across all touchpoints.

Key responsibilities

  • Brand identity system: Develop, refine, and maintain the visual identity — including logo usage, color palette, typography, iconography, grid systems, photography/illustration styles, motion principles, and brand voice guidelines — to support SailPoint’s positioning as a leader in identity security.

  • Design system ownership: Create and manage a scalable design system that aligns with the rebrand for both marketing and product. Define reusable components, tokens, documentation, and usage patterns for product UI and web experiences.

  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with product design, UX, marketing, content, and engineering teams to ensure consistent implementation of brand standards across web, product, sales enablement, events, and advertising.

  • Campaign and marketing asset production: Lead visual concepting and execution for demand-generation campaigns, digital ads, event materials, sales collateral, case studies, presentations, and social content, ensuring assets reflect the rebrand’s strategy and aesthetics.

  • Product UI & experience design: Apply brand principles to product interfaces where appropriate — harmonizing visual language, micro-interactions, icons, and component styling while honoring usability and accessibility standards.

  • Art direction and creative leadership: Provide art direction for photoshoots, illustrations, motion graphics, and third-party creative partners. Mentor junior designers, review work, and raise creative standards across teams.

  • Brand governance and education: Produce clear brand guidelines and toolkits, audit brand usage across channels, run training sessions for internal teams and agencies, and act as a brand steward to prevent off‑brand implementations.

  • Accessibility and localization: Ensure design choices meet accessibility (WCAG) requirements and adapt identity assets for global markets, language variations, and technical constraints.

  • Measurement and iteration: Establish qualitative and quantitative feedback loops with marketing, product, and customer teams to measure brand impact and iterate on visual assets and the design system.

  • Project and stakeholder management: Prioritize design work, scope requests, manage timelines and resources, and present design rationale to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Skills and tools

  • Strong visual design, typography, color theory, and systems-thinking skills.

  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud), versioning, and handoff workflows.

  • Experience building and documenting design systems, component libraries, and brand toolkits.

  • Understanding of product design, UX principles, and front-end constraints.

  • Experience with motion design, art direction, and working with external agencies.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management abilities.

Impact Since SailPoint’s 2022 rebrand, a Senior Brand Designer helps establish and scale a unified, professional identity that supports go-to-market programs, strengthens product-brand alignment, increases recognition in enterprise identity/security markets, and improves consistency and efficiency across creative production. Their work ensures the brand remains adaptable as SailPoint evolves its product offerings and expands internationally.
